How it all began

Some of you know our story, but honestly we both love how organic it is, it’s always worth a share.

I (Natasha) will tell it here, but feel free to ask George his version of events. It may differ a tad.

One Saturday morning in 2020 at 10am whilst living on Lynn Road in Downham Market, I was leaving my house - late as usual and rushing off to a client. This was November during partial lockdown. George who lived around the corner on Sage Avenue was heading to the market and stopped in his tracks when he saw me. “Oh you do massage!” he said! He talked about a knee problem to which I listened intently and I gave him my number so we could make an appointment. This date was the 21st.

Now you must appreciate a strange man is standing outside my house and I just gave him my number and the following week I invited him into my home. This is something I would NEVER do, but his voice and eyes and whole personality just let me know I could trust him.

So, he became a regular client and with it being Covid weird times it didn’t take long to become friends. We would make each other meals and chat about photography.

I think the turning point was when I went to his house to cut Alex’s hair. I believe he was checking me out. (He’ll tell you he wasn’t but it’s a lie) still at this point I was oblivious and was not interested in him. He was a client and a friend. On this day though we talked about Cheetos and a week or so later I ate a whole bag of these and I just had to tell him about it. He in turn suggested we go for “that” walk (you see I said to him months before that we could go for a walk anytime if he ever wanted to talk about anything as he was going through a divorce.)

I wasn’t sure what to say because I wasn’t certain of his intentions but I found myself immediately typing yes. On the walk I was nervous and took a camera because it was something to hide behind and I made him chat about his life and talk about all the women he should date lol! We arrived at my home and I invited him in for a hot beverage as we were both soaked and cold. I said to him I was going up stairs to change into something comfortable (he swears I said “more” but I didn’t ) which he immediately thought that it meant a slinky nighty! Lol! Which of course it didn’t mean that at all!

We sat on the sofa chatting about all sorts of things. He sat at one end and me the other. At one point in the evening one of us said something very funny and with that George leaned forward and slapped my leg. It was in this moment that some kind of electricity hit me and I laughed with him but quickly ushered him out because I was overcome with emotion. It was also late getting and the children - John and Alex, were back at home and was worried about him. (this is a funny story that you will have to ask them about!)

The following week I was a bit of a wreck! I had confusing feelings towards him, he was my new friend as well as a client. So, the day of his next appointment, I asked him to come in early so we could talk. There was no way I could give him a treatment feeling the way I did.

He came in early and we chatted for two whole hours. It was so awkward and we came to no solution at to what this was between us. Lol.

As he was leaving and we were saying goodbye, he asked me if he could have a hug without the mask 😷. I hesitated but agreed. And I guess you can tell where this is leading. He hugged me, then looked at me and lingered. He gave me an Eskimo kiss to which I found a little odd and so I just went straight in with a full on kiss. And the rest as they say, is history. This day was 4th May 2021.

The following month in June we went to a Mad Hatters festival weekend in Ely, As it was my birthday, he bought me a gift, which was an Alice in Wonderland original book. This is now as special book to us, as it sit’s beside our bed and comes along on all trips, as George reads it to me most nights when I cannot sleep. Hence the theme of this day. We had to include it.

We met on 21st November 2020 and married on 21st November 2024 with just the two of us at Downham Market Town Hall and had two strangers as witnesses.

We got together on 4th May 2021, and so it was a must that we had our blessing and celebration of love with all of your our dearest ones on a 4th of May.

We cannot wait to share good times and magical moments with you all.
